Career Readiness Academy

The Career Readiness Academy, in partnership with The Kookaburra, is a three class job training program held twice a year for teens in foster care.

Students learn the foundational skills they need to secure a job; applying for a job, writing a resume, interview skills, basic banking, customer service skills, and working as a team.

At the end of the program, students work alongside Kookaburra staff members and go to Target to purchase work clothing. Students apply for paid internships with business partners that match their interests, receive job coaching, attend monthly soft skills classes, and develop a professional development plan.
